NACE is the only governing body for collegiate esports in the North America region and currently works with over 200 member institutions. These members and NACE together work to provide over $16 million in esports scholarships every year, and this partnership with Skillshot is meant to increase NACE’s capacity to offer more for its members.
Michael Brooks, NACE’s executive director, said
Skillshot’s CEO Todd Harris said the company is working with NACE to provide even more value to members and publishers, offering internship opportunities for students interested in esports and much more. So, it’s a win-win for everyone involved.
We are thrilled to offer more game titles and more live events, including collegiate Fortnite this spring and many more games to come in the fall.
Additionally, a collegiate competition for both Fortnite and CS:GO will culminate in a MomoCon 2020 invitational finals on May 23.
We’re excited to partner with NACE to scale esports to colleges nationwide – more schools, more game titles, more events. With our infrastructure, production capability and publisher relationships we aim to provide value to participating schools, the competing teams, and also importantly our partnered game publishers.
Beyond competition, together we are also developing governance and internship opportunities for students wishing to enter the esports industry.
